Food Trucks Get Green Light To Operate In Downtown Aurora

The food trucks will be available at three locations throughout the city on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

AURORA, IL -- The streets of downtown Aurora will be filled with the scents and sounds of freshly grilled eats, tacos, fried foods, and other treats now that the city has given the green light for food trucks to operate in town during the week. In a statement, Mayor Richard Irvin said, "This new initiative allows for more dining options in Aurora while providing an opportunity for small businesses owners to build clientele and strengthen their business."

Residents will be able to find up to six food trucks at three locations throughout Aurora on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food truck areas will be located on Water Street Square between Downer Place and Benton Street, on Benton Street between Stolp Ave and River Street on the north side of the bridge near the swimming stones, and on River Street between Galena Blvd and New York Street on the west side of the street.

Food vendors who want to participate do not need to make reservations to secure a spot, but they must be registered by the City of Aurora. Click the link to find out more about how to become a food truck vendor in Aurora.
