Free Electronics Recycling Event At Bednarcik Junior High

Aurora residents can unload TVs, laptops, VCRs, DVD players and more at this free event.

AURORA, IL — If you've got some electronics items laying around that you need to get rid of, you can head to Bednarcik Junior High School on Oct. 5 for a free Electronics Recycling Day. Residents can bring TVs, VCRs, laptops, video game systems, and other electronics to the event, which requires advance registration.

Here's a list of some of the items that will be accepted at the electronic recycling event:

  • TVs
  • VCRs and DVD players
  • Fax machines
  • Laptops, printers, keyboards
  • Typewriters
  • Satellite dishes
  • Stereos
  • Curling irons
  • Vacuums
  • Coffee makers
  • Clocks
  • Blenders
  • Bread makers
  • Toaster ovens
  • Metal tools

The following items cannot be accepted at the Electronics Recycling event:

  • Large household appliances
  • Air conditioners
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Microwaves
  • Smoke detectors
  • Household batteries

To donate items at the Free Electronics Recycling Event, Aurora residents must register in advance. Cars are limited to bringing a total of five items, which include up to two TV and or computer screens.

Be sure to bring ID to prove you're an Aurora resident.
