Free Spring Yard Waste Collection Kicks Off Monday In Aurora
Aurora residents can get rid of yard waste without using a garbage sticker through April 12.
AURORA, IL -- Spring has finally arrived and Aurora residents are busy getting out of the house to enjoy the sunshine, but also to pick up all the leftover debris from winter. To make this cleanup easier, the city's free spring yard waste collection program will begin on April 1. The two-week program gives residents the chance to recycle yard waste without buying and using waste stickers.
Free Yard Waste Pickup April 1 through April 12
To take advantage of the free yard waste collection, residents must put yard waste in a 30-gallon kraft paper bag weighing fewer than 60 pounds. Yard waste that is placed in a trash container won't be picked up, officials said.

Yard waste that includes branches and limbs can be disposed of the city's bundled brush pickup program starting April 1. Limbs and branches that are up to 4 inches in diameter and up to 4 feet long can be tied into neat bundles for collection.
The cut side of the branches should be placed to face away from the street when you set the bundle out for pickup. Branches smaller than 1/2-inch in diameter are too small to be bundled and should be included in yard wast pickup.
