FVSRA Doubles Down on Community Investment During Pandemic
Paying it forward to business partners in need.
While offering 50+ free virtual programs each week during the shelter in place orders, and now resuming some in person programs, it was the support of donors—individuals and local businesses—that have enabled the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) to go the extra mile.
“With the help of the Fox Valley Special Recreation Foundation, we have been able to keep these services free, serve participants and families experiencing hardship throughout COVID-19, and open the Dr. William “Bill” Kelly Resource Library to provide technology and adaptive equipment for the FVSRA community,” said Eric Smith, Development Director.
In addition to these investments, FVSRA is paying it forward every week by building an online directory to feature its business partners.

“These wonderful companies have supported our cause for years and we want to give back,” said Smith. “We are asking the community to consider these businesses when shopping for goods or services, showing our partners how grateful we are for them.”
As the new normal progresses, donors are making a difference by giving a one-time gift and helping to Fund a Future with a recurring gift of just $10/month to celebrate the Foundation’s ten years of funding high quality experiences for people with special needs.

“I am very proud of our team for making investments into the community in more ways than just one,” said Executive Director, Alex Engelhardt. “This work strengthens our commitment to the needs of our participants and increases collaboration with our funding partners.”
