Halloween 2017: How to See If Sexual Predators Live In Your Aurora Neighborhood

Find out if sexual predators live in your neighborhood before you take the kids trick-or-treating.

AURORA — Before taking the little ones out for trick-or-treating, consider checking out your neighborhood on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. The handy search tool allows you to tease out information based on where you live, specific names and more. It includes each offender's name, address (if known), date of birth, the crimes and a picture. It also lists how old they were, and the victims, a the time of the offense.

Aurora has 272 registered offenders. A dozen of them have unknown addresses. This article is not intended to discourage trick-or-treating. Those on the registry have holiday restrictions and are not allowed to dress in costume or pass out candy.
