Illinois To Take Over Aurora Mass Vaccination Site Friday
The former department store has been the site of several mass clinics for Aurora residents but will open Friday to all eligible Illinoisans.
AURORA, IL — Illinois public health officials will take over a mass vaccination site in Aurora on Friday as part of the state’s push to build a “robust infrastructure” for distributing coronavirus vaccines, Gov. J.B Pritzker said.
Thousands of Aurora residents have received their vaccines at the former Carson Pirie Scott store, where city officials have held several mass vaccination clinics in recent weeks.

Starting Friday, all Illinois residents who meet vaccine-eligibility criteria can get a vaccine at the former Aurora department store, located at 970 N. Lake St. The site is expected to administer up to 270 doses per day, the Aurora Beacon-News reports.
Illinois residents will be able to register for vaccine appointments at the Aurora site through kanevax.com. Residents can also use that website to find appointments at the state-run mass vaccination site at the former Sam’s Club in Batavia.

The site in Batavia has administered more than 13,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine after opening March 19, Kane County Board Chair Corinne Pierog said Monday.
State officials are also set to over mass vaccination sites in Joliet, Morris and Waukegan, Pritzker announced Monday.
