Kane County Health Dept. To Host Virtual Coronavirus Town Halls

KANE COUNTY, IL — Officials from the Kane County Health Department are inviting residents to participate in town hall meetings this week about how to improve the county’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The department is set to host a one-hour session called “Addressing Disparities: Improving the COVID-19 Response in Kane County,” which will be presented in English and Spanish, according to a news release.

The session for English speakers is scheduled to run from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, while the session for Spanish speakers is scheduled for the same time Thursday, the release states.

Kane County officials said they expect to start the next phase of the state's vaccine rollout plan in the next two weeks.

Phase 1A included health care workers and residents of long-term-care facilities, while Phase 1B will include residents 65 and older and front-line essential workers, as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
