Mayor Irvin turns a blind eye to poverty

During the January 26th meeting of the Kane County Democrats, Mayor Irvin made the claim that Aurora had a poverty rate of 4%

It's hard to believe that our mayor is that ignorant of the facts. He obviously
doesn't see the way that many of us are struggling to barely scrape by
and put food on the table every night. At the same time, the City Council just approved pay increases to the mayor and other council members.

I find it upsetting, and quite frankly insulting, that the mayor would so blatantly feed these falsehoods to his constituents.

This is the man that is trusted to run the city that will lead the citizens to
greater prosperity and an improved quality of life.

Mayor Irvin, if you continue to run this city with a blind eye to the suffering of
many, just to build shiny new buildings, you might only receive 4% of
the votes in the next election.
