No Injuries in Minor Aurora House Fire

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

AURORA, IL — No injuries occurred in a small house fire Saturday morning.

Aurora Fire Department Lt. Jim Rhodes said at around 5:54 a.m., fire crews were sent to the 1500 block of Hoyt Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a one-story single family home with smoke showing. It took 12 firefighters just under 30 minutes to fully extinguish the fire, which was located on the exterior of the home and was called in by a neighbor.

There was nobody home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The estimated total dollar loss is $2,000 and the house was deemed habitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
