Overturned Semi Crash Under Investigation In Aurora

The rollover crash required several hours of cleanup, causing traffic delays.

AURORA, IL — Police in Aurora are investigating a crash involving an overturned semi that took place Friday afternoon. The crash was reported around 11 a.m. on West Galena Boulevard and Oak Street.

It took crews several hours to right the semi and clean up debris from the rollover crash. Galena was closed between Locust Street and Lake Street and commuters were directed to use alternate routes, but businesses remained open.

Just after 5 p.m., Aurora Police announced that the area around the scene of the crash had been cleaned up and that normal traffic had resumed.

The accident remains under investigation.
