AURORA, IL — Fat Tuesday comes but once a year, and with it the promise of those deep-fried Polish confections that many find as hard to resist as they can be to pronounce: paczki. The beloved donut-like treats will be available in and around Aurora on Paczki Day 2020, which falls on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Some bakeries require paczki pre-orders before Fat Tuesday and others will have a limited amount of paczki on Feb. 25. Here's a roundup of where you can buy paczki in the area.

10 W. State St., North Aurora
Paczki enthusiasts have until Feb. 23 to get their orders in at Harner's Bakery. The bakery will only carry paczki on Feb. 25, so call ahead or stop in on Fat Tuesday to make sure you snag your share of apple, chocolate creme, strawberry rhubarb and other yummy flavors.

2198 Ogden Ave., Aurora
Ciambella Bakery will open bright and early at 6 a.m. on Fat Tuesday to start serving up paczki, but they strongly recommend calling to place a pre-order. The flavor selection includes apricot, chocolate-topped custard, lemon, strawberry with whipped cream, raspberry and raspberry mouse with vanilla frosting.
328 E. Wilson, Batavia
Dimple's Donuts is hopping on the paczki craze Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so if you miss your chance on Fat Tuesday, you'll still have time to quell your paczki cravings.
25 S. Madison St., Oswego
The cutoff date for getting in a paczki pre-order at My Sister's Lil' Donut Shoppe is Feb. 22. Call them to make sure you get your hands on apple, bavarian, blueberry, raspberry or strawberry for your Fat Tuesday treat.
DRM European Cafe & Delicatessen
610 E. Main St., St. Charles
The paczki flavor selection at DRM European Cafe & Delicatessen is insane. Standout flavors include Nutella, red velvet, rose hip and apple caramel with cream cheese. There are also a variety of gluten-free paczki for those with a gluten intolerance. DRM will open from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 for walk-ins and pre-order pickups (deadline was 2/12). Walk-ins will also be available on Fat Tuesday, so don't miss your paczki opportunity.
