Police: Aurora Man Charged After Accidentally Shooting Girlfriend
Police said Rasheed Bailey, 19, mishandled his weapon Tuesday morning and accidentally shot his girlfriend in the buttocks.
AURORA, IL—A 19-year-old Aurora man has been charged with two felonies after accidentally shooting his girlfriend Tuesday morning, Aurora police said.
Around 9 a.m., officers were called to the 800 block of N. Lake Street, where suspect Rasheed Bailey lives, for reports that he had accidentally shot his girlfriend in the buttocks while mishandling his 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.
After investigating the incident, police said there was no information to suggest that Bailey had injured his girlfriend intentionally.

Paramedics transported the woman to an Aurora area hospital, and she was later transported to an area trauma center where she remains in stable condition.
Bailey was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, a Class 4 felony, as well as unlawful possession of a weapon, a Class 3 felony.
