Police Urge Businesses In Fox Valley Mall Area To Close Monday
The Aurora Police Department sent an emergency alert at 3:45 p.m. Monday about potential protests in the area.

AURORA, IL — Aurora police are encouraging businesses in and around Fox Valley Mall to close early Monday as protests may take place in the area. Residents are also being asked to avoid the Fox Valley Mall area on Aurora’s east side.
Hundreds of protesters demonstrated outside the Chicago Premium Outlets on Sunday before heading downtown to City Hall. A mall security vehicle was damaged in the mall’s parking, but there were no apparent injuries to protesters or police during a tense standoff that lasted at least 20 minutes.
Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin has extended the city’s curfew for a second night, from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday.
