By Shannon Antinori. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that lane closures will take place along U.S. 30 from Lincoln Station Drive to 143td Street in Plainfield, Aurora and Oswego, weather permitting, starting Monday, April 10. The closures are necessary for a resurfacing project. In order to complete the work, lane closures will take place in both directions on U.S. 30 from Lincoln Station Drive to 143rd Street with flaggers to guide traffic through the work zone. Daytime and overnight closures will be utilized when necessary. The scope of the project consists of resurfacing and pavement patching, as well as sidewalk improvements that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The overall project is expected to be completed in Summer 2017. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
