Speakeasy Coming to Aurora: Historical Society Event

"You're going to have a good time and maybe learn a few things," John Jaros, executive director of the Aurora Historical Society, said

The Aurora Historical Society will be recreating a 1920s speakeasy on the evening of Friday, March 10. "Joe Sent Me," will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 1 E. Benton St. The event will feature jazz music, food, and the atmosphere of the Prohibition Era.

"You're going to have a good time and maybe learn a few things," John Jaros, executive director of the Aurora Historical Society, said in a phone interview. "We encourage guests to wear roaring twenties attire if they wish, but it's certainly not a requirement."

Tickets are $45 per person and $40 for member. There will also be a cash bar. Remember the password - 'Joe Sent Me.'
