Tech Company Opens New HQ In Aurora, Plans To Hire Hundreds

IT People Network said it plans to create up to 300 new jobs at its new state-of-the-art headquarters over the next three to five years.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora technology company is moving into its new global headquarters across town, bringing with it nearly 200 employees and plans for hundreds of new jobs.

IT People Network launched in 2012 in Aurora and is expanding to a larger, state-of-the-art headquarters at 950 Meridian Lake Dr. on the former Robert Morris University campus. City officials and company executives held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at the 74,000-square-foot campus.

IT People Network CEO Amit Dutta said the company plans to bring almost 200 employees to the new facility by May 1. It is also planning to create up to 300 new jobs in Aurora within five years, Dutta said in a news release.

“We decided to expand and consolidate operations at what will be our new state-of-the-art headquarters in Aurora because of the incredible opportunities this city offers,” Dutta said, crediting Mayor Richard Irvin as the “key factor in our final decision.”

IT People Network is a global company that provides consulting and end-to-end competency services to Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. and Europe, the release states.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic causing huge downturns in so many industries over the past year, IT People Network “significantly amplified and accelerated” its efforts to offer and develop innovative products, Dutta said in the release.

“We aspire to script the next big corporate America story, which had its humble beginning from Aurora and rapidly expanded across the rest of the world,” Dutta said.

The former Robert Morris University campus had sat vacant for three years after it scaled back services and then merged with Roosevelt University in 2020.

IT People Network joins a growing list of technology companies to open global headquarters in Aurora in recent years.

Scientel Solutions, an innovative telecom company, relocated its global headquarters in 2020 from Lombard to Aurora. Simplify Healthcare moved its regional headquarters last year from Naperville to Aurora.

NEOTech moved its Naperville offices to downtown Aurora in 2019, while Support Companies LLC announced its move to the city in November 2015.
