These Aurora Restaurants Are Now Open For Outdoor Dining
Dozens of Aurora restaurants have opened outdoor dining areas after Illinois moved into phase 3 of its reopening plan at the end of May.
AURORA, IL — More than three dozen Aurora restaurants have opened outdoor seating areas, taking full advantage of loosened restrictions to get back to business. The entire state moved into phase 3 of the Restore Illinois reopening at the end of May, allowing restaurants and bars to reopen with safety precautions.
Under the city’s Activate Aurora plan, restaurants will be allowed to use up to 25 percent of their parking lots to create outdoor seating areas, with approval. Restaurants that want to add temporary outdoor seating on city-owned property or expand into their parking lots must apply for a permit from the city.

Outdoor tables must be spaced at least 6 feet apart, and parties will be limited to no more than six people. Restaurants will be restricted to operating their outdoor dining areas between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. and live or amplified music are not allowed.
