Jason Zimmerman, superintendent of the Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission, said the clinic is receiving a “special, one-time shipment” of the Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine is easier to transport than Pfizer’s vaccine, allowing the Hines VA to send shipments to areas that have not held a vaccination clinic for veterans, according to Christopher Wirtjes, chief of patient administration service at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital.
