Waubonsee Community College's VITA program helps qualifying residents do their taxes for free.

AURORA, IL — Looking for free tax help this season? The Waubonsee Community Collage VITA program is offering it in downtown Aurora beginning Jan. 27. A team of volunteers have partnered with the Center for Economic Progress to sponsor the free income tax return preparation assistance session for eligible members of the community.
Sessions are every Wednesday through April 14 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus, 18 S. River Street. During spring break, it will be open on Monday, March 12 through Saturday, March 17.
Services are free to individuals with an income of less than $30,000, or families with an income of less than $55,000. At these sessions, volunteers from Waubonsee and the Center for Economic Progress will help prepare and electronically file income tax returns, including those requiring the 1040 Schedule C used by small businesses and the self-employed.
