Voters Head To The Polls Tuesday For Kane County Primary Races
Four areas of Kane County have primary races Tuesday: Aurora Township, Dundee Township, Elgin Township and the Village of Campton Hills.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Voters in some parts of Kane County are casting ballots Tuesday to decide who receives their party’s nomination to run for office in April.
In some cases, however, Tuesday’s primary races will decide who wins the general election in April, with no declared candidates from the opposing party.
Only four areas of the county have primary races Tuesday: Aurora Township, Dundee Township, Elgin Township and the Village of Campton Hills.

Dundee and Elgin townships have races for Democrats and Republicans, while Aurora Township only has Democratic primary races Tuesday. The Village of Campton Hills has a nonpartisan primary for trustee.

The most hotly contested race of the 2021 primary in Kane County is for Aurora Township trustee, with nine people running for four seats: Dolores M. Hicks, Juanita T. Wells, Bonnie Lee Kunkel, David W. Moore, Nadia Kanhai, Sam Nunez, Sharain "Sherry" Spears, Jennifer Jaquez-Fearday and Nelly Venecia.
Aurora Township also has Democratic primaries for supervisor (William "Bill" Catching vs. Alex Arroyo), clerk (Penny "Cassidy" Alexander vs. Juan Thomas) and highway commissioner (Juan Reyna vs. Kevin A. Hale).
Five candidates are seeking four Democratic nominations for Dundee Township trustee: Trisha Calabrese, June D. Keibler, Susan F. Harney, Devin McCrate, Jenni Lee Schiavone.

Gerald Stephen Harvel and Christopher Kempf are facing off for the Republican Party’s nomination for Dundee Township highway commissioner.
Democrats in Elgin Township are tasked with choosing Franklin F. Ramirez or Brenda Rodgers for their party’s nomination for supervisor, and Jose Bosque or James “Jimmy” Shales” for highway commissioner.
Ken Bruderle and Mark Bialek are seeking the Republican Party’s nomination for Elgin Township supervisor.
Ed Muncie, James McKelvie and Michael D. Millette are seeking three seats on the Village of Campton Hills’ board of trustees.
