Water Main Break Causes Icy Roads, Multiple Crashes In Aurora

Several people crashed their cars Tuesday morning after a water main break created icy roadways on Aurora's East Side.

AURORA, IL — A water main break on Aurora’s East Side led to icy roads and multiple crashes Tuesday morning, according to police.

Aurora police issued an alert telling residents about icy roads near the intersection of Bilter Road and North Farnsworth Avenue, with at least three crashes reported by 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police said the city was sending a salt truck to the area, along with employees from the Water and Sewer Maintenance Division.
