Benefit To Help Bolingbrook Officer Alexander's Children
Officer Steve Alexander, his brother and their parents were all killed in December.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Although we are in the thick of snow and winter, there is an upcoming event this spring in Bolingbrook that aims to raise several thousand dollars for a great cause. As of Sunday, at least 88 people have already responded on Facebook they plan to attend the Bolingbrook Police Officer Steve Alexander Family Benefit. The event is at 6 p.m. April 26 at Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive. The Bolingbrook Police Benevolent Society is hosting the fund-raiser.
According to the village of Bolingbrook, the April 26 fund-raiser will include a night of drinks, food, live entertainment, games and raffles. People can purchase tickets at the door and online. In early December, the Bolingbrook police officer, along with his father Doug, mother Lily, and brother Doug Jr. were all killed in a horrific crash involving a truck while they were in Ireland.
Steve Alexander, 49, was a member of the Bolingbrook Police Department for the past 17 years.

"Steve was a proud father who left behind two daughters, age 11 and 10, who were his pride and joy," the Bolingbrook Police Department announced after the tragedy.

In 2017, Steve Alexander organized a Squad Car Night at the Promenade.
According to the benevolent society, "All profits from this event will be used to establish an educational trust for (Alexander's daughters). Help us celebrate Steve and help provide for his children’s future."
