Bolingbrook: Advisory Questions For April 2021 Election

If there are any questions concerning the questions that will be on the ballot, please contact Village Clerk Marti Barton.

Bolingbrook, IL – Our Village Attorney and the Will and DuPage County State’s Attorneys’ Offices have agreed that the “garbage” referendum shall be put on the April 6, 2021 ballot. Although the petitions ask to be placed on the next regularly scheduled election ballot, which is the February 23, 2021 Consolidated Primary Election. Since there is no contest at that election, the County Clerks will not have to proceed with an election.

Since the “garbage” advisory question is now pushed to the April 6, 2021 election, the last question to be passed by the Village Board will not be on the ballot. This is because, according to state law, no more than three (3) questions can be on the ballot at any election. The advisory question on cannabis, since it was last passed by the Board, will now be replaced by the “garbage” advisory referendum, along with the other two (2) advisory questions placed on the ballot.
