Bolingbrook-East Has Most Weekly Coronavirus Cases In Will County

During the week of Match 1, the village as a whole reported 89 cases, the second-most in the county.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The east side of Bolingbrook reported the highest number of new coronavirus cases in Will County during the week of March 1, according to recent data available from the Will County Health Department.

Bolingbrook-east (zip code 60440) had 60 new cases in a week. During the same week, the village as a whole reported 89 cases, the second-most in the county, following Joliet with 106 cases. This is the second time since November, Bolingbrook reported the second-highest number of weekly coronavirus cases in the county.

Throughout November, December, January and most of February the village has had the third-most number of weekly cases.

The weekly number of cases reported were:

The village, however, is showing a significant decrease in coronavirus positivity rates across all zip codes.

According to data gathered from the Illinois Department of Public Health, as of Monday, the east side of the village (zip code 60440) has an average 7-day rolling COVID-19 positivity rate of 4.80 percent, whereas the west side (zip code 60490) is at 5.68 percent.

The WCHD reported 67,763 COVID-19 cases in the county as of Wednesday, an increase of 104 from Tuesday. No deaths were reported during the same period.
