Bolingbrook Has Third-Most New Coronavirus Cases In Will County

According to the WCHD, Bolingbrook reported 410 new coronavirus cases during the week of Nov. 30, following Plainfield with 559 cases.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook has the third-highest number of new coronavirus cases in Will County, public health data shows. According to the Will County Health Department, Bolingbrook reported 410 new cases during the week of Nov. 30, following Joliet with 853 cases and Plainfield with 559.

Throughout November, the village has had the third-most number of weekly cases. The weekly number of cases reported were:

  • Week of Nov. 2 - 257
  • Week of Nov. 9 - 452
  • Week of Nov. 16 - 424
  • Week of Nov. 23 - 336
  • Week of Nov. 30 - 410

State officials imposed new restrictions across Illinois after a surge in coronavirus cases, but the upward trend has continued in Bolingbrook. The village is also showing high coronavirus positivity rates across all zip codes, along with an increase in the average number of cases reported per 100,000 people.

According to data gathered from the Illinois Department of Public Health, as of Monday, the east side of the village (zip code 60440) has an average 7-day rolling COVID-19 positivity rate of 12.27 percent, whereas the west side (zip code 60490) is at 13.69 percent.

The weekly new case rate per 100,000 people is at 583 for Bolingbrook-east and 597 for Bolingbrook-west.

The WCHD on Monday reported 43,587 coronavirus cases in Will County, an increase of 1,683 from Friday, and 591 deaths from the virus, an increase of 24 during the same time period.
