Bolingbrook Boys Basketball Players Receive All-State Honors

Ben Moore, Kenny Williams and Prentiss Nixon all received all-state basketball recognition in the past week.

Three Bolingbrook High School boys basketball players recently received all-state basketball recognition.

Ben Moore, Prentiss Nixon and Kenny Williams were all named All-State by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. 

Moore, a BHS senior headed to play at Southern Methodist in the fall, was named to the All-State 2nd team, while junior Kenny Williams and sophomore Prentiss Nixon made Special Mention.

Moore collected additional honors over the weekend. On Saturday, the Associated Press named him to their All-State list. 

On Sunday, Moore was named Voyager Media Player of the Year prior to the Voyager Media All-Star game. He was then named MVP of the Voyager Media All-Star game, scoring 27 points and bringing the house down with a few poster dunks.  

He is also one of 24 players to be invited to play in the Chicago United South Side vs. West Side Hoops Classic, which will take place in May. 

Moore, a 6-8 forward, averaged 16.5 points per game while registering 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game. He shot 63% from the field. An honor student in the classroom, he received more than 25 college scholarship offers.

Williams, a 6-6 center, averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the field. He scored 28 points against Plainfield North.

Nixon, a 6-0 guard, averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game. He scored over 20 points in eight different games and is widely considered one of the top five sophomores in the state.
