BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 35-year-old Bolingbrook man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted carjacking in his own subdivision earlier this week.

Aubrey J. Watson was arrested just after 6 a.m. on Monday after police found him hiding between cars near the area on Fernwood Drive where police said that Watson pulled a 51-year-old man from his vehicle and attempted to steal the vehicle, police said.

Watson and the victim of the attempted carjacking do not know one another, Bolingbrook Lt. Anthony Columbus said. Officers arrived at the scene of the incident and Watson tried to run from officers but was soon arrested after being detected. Officers took him into custody after a brief struggle.
