Bolingbrook to Replace 142 Ash Trees Affected by Emerald Ash Borer
There are about 36,000 ash trees in Bolingbrook at risk.

There are almost 36,000 ash trees in Bolingbrook.
The village of Bolingbrook will spend nearly $66,000 to replace 142 ash trees affected by emerald ash borer, according to the Chicago Tribune.Â
The cost could become "astronomical" in coming years as more trees are affected, Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar said at last week's board meeting.Â
Officials are still assessing how many of the village's 12,000 ash trees will need to be removed, according to the Trib.Â
