Bolingbrook Welcomes a New Micro Pantry
This new Micro Pantry, built by two local Girl Scouts, is open 24/7 at 323 Quadrangle Drive in Bolingbrook.

Bolingbrook has a new Micro Pantry! (Full list of the five local micro pantry locations available by clicking here.) Annie Klis and Adonia DeWitt, the Girl Scouts of Troop 70729, have installed a Micro Pantry at 323 Quadrangle Drive outside of the WIC (Women, Infants and Children - Will County Health Department) office.
Micro Pantries are small cabinets that are designed for anonymous 24 hour food pick up for those in need and a drop off point for those who wish to donate. As the slogan says, "Take what you need, Leave what you can." This joins other Micro Pantries in Bolingbrook, located at the Fountaindale Public Library, AMITA Health Bolingbrook, Friendship Church, and Redwood Road. For those wishing to help support the Micro Pantry, needed donations include items such as baby food and cereal, baby formula, canned vegetables and fruit, canned pasta, granola bars, hot and cold cereals, juice boxes, peanut butter, rice, toiletries, diapers, and hygiene products. Since this pantry is located next to the WIC office, which serves women, infants, and young children, we are hoping to feature more kid friendly food and baby items. You can also follow the pantry on Facebook @bolingbrookWICmicropantry to be updated about needs.
Adonia and Annie, who just graduated 8th grade, earned their Girl Scout Silver Award by completing this project. The Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. They researched, fundraised, built and installed the project with the help and support of their families and the community. They would especially like to thank Jake McVey of Baird and Warner for his generous $100 donation! They would also like to thank the Bolingbrook WIC office for securing the location and their dads, Peter Dewitt and Jim Klis, for all their help with building the pantry.
