Boy, 4, Fatally Hit By Car In Bolingbrook Driveway

The child suffered multiple injuries after being hit and was pronounced dead Monday evening, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 4-year-old boy was fatally hit by a family member's car as it was pulling into a driveway on the 800 block of Harris Drive in Bolingbrook Monday, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Police said the boy's family called 911 as they rushed the child to a nearby hospital, and officers met the family en route.

Hospital staff were unable to save the boy's life and he was pronounced dead Monday around 8 p.m. at Amita Bolingbrook Hospital Emergency Room, officials said.

The preliminary autopsy results showed the boy suffered multiple injuries after being hit by the car. Officials said the final cause of death will be determined pending more reports.

The Bolingbrook Police Department is handling the investigation.

The coroner's office did not release the boy's name.
