Businessman, Donor Behind Bolingbrook Senior Center Dies At 92
Joseph Levy Jr. was a driving force behind the Joseph and Sarah Levy Senior Center — named for his parents — in Bolingbrook.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A prominent businessman who opened a Subaru dealership in Bolingbrook and was a driving force behind the creation of the village's senior center has died. The village on Tuesday announced that Joseph Levy Jr. passed away last week at the age of 92.
Village officials shared a Facebook post from Mayor Roger Claar highlighting Levy's contributions to Bolingbrook.
"Back in the late 1980s a businessman who owned several car dealerships named Joseph Levy, Jr., came to Bolingbrook and opened a Subaru dealership. ... As a successful businessman he liked to give back to his communities," Claar wrote, in part. "He started several senior citizen centers starting with the one in Evanston and named them after his parents, Joseph and Sarah Levy. He came to me and said I’d like to give $300,000 to start a senior center in Bolingbrook in honor of my parents. ... Mr. Joseph Levy passed this past week. We all owe the Levy family our thoughts and prayers for his business investment in Bolingbrook and his love for Senior Citizens!"
