Driver Airlifted With Serious Injuries After I-55 Rollover
A 53-year-old Joliet man was severely injured.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A 53-year-old Joliet man sustained severe injuries in a Monday morning crash on northbound I-55, Illinois State Police said. The crash closed all lanes of I-55 at around 8:15 a.m. Monday.
Police said the driver of a 2010 Ford Focus, identified as Brian Egizio, was heading north on I-55 half a mile north of Route 126 when he lost control of the vehicle, which drove off the roadway into the right ditch and rolled over numerous times before coming to rest in the ditch.
Egizio was extricated from the vehicle by Plainfield and Bolingbrook firefighters and transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove via Life Star helicopter.
