3 Incumbents Stay on VVSD Board, Venegas Gets Second Shot
One incumbent was not voted back on the Valley View school board, but all projected winners have VVSD board experience.
BOLINGBROOK, IL— Five candidates ran for four open spots on the Valley View school board. Of them, Deborah L. Sykora, Victor D. Zack, Leonel "Leo" Venegas and Liz Campbell are projected to win.
Sykora, Zack and Campbell are current board members and Venegas has previously served as well. He was appointed to the District 365U board in 2010 and served until 2015, when an accusation about the validity of his candidacy paperwork removed him from the ballot.
