Emergency I-55 Bridge Repairs Cause Lane Closures In Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that emergency bridge repairs will require temporary lane closures on inbound I-55 (Stevenson Expressway) over Illinois 53 in Bolingbrook until late Monday evening.

In order to complete the work, the two left lanes on inbound I-55 will be closed through the evening rush hour. Temporary closures on northbound Illinois 53 will also be in place until this afternoon.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Alternative routes are strongly encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
