Do everything from pick your pumpkin in a pool, to meeting new animals, to shooting your pumpkin with an arrow!

(Bolingbrook Park District)

Bolingbrook, Ill. - It's time to get out of the house and have fun before the snow starts flying! Bolingbrook Park District is offering plenty of fall fun for all ages. To help you get started, here's a quick checklist for the fall season:

  • Get Halloween Costume
  • Test costume out at Freaky Fun Friday while you check out some parrots, bird of prey, s’mores by the fire, walk the monster hunt and trick or treat trail, and eat s’mores by the fire.
  • Swim around Pelican Harbor Indoor Aquatic Park to pick your pumpkin then decorate it
  • Shoot said pumpkin with an arrow after Halloween.

Yes, when Halloween is over, instead of waiting for your pumpkin to rot on your doorstep, shoot it with an arrow! On Sunday, November 1 from noon-2:00 pm, destroy your pumpkins as a family by shooting it with an arrow at our first-ever Pumpkin Shoot! Our staff at Hidden Oaks Nature Center will teach you to shoot the bow and arrow, then you get to shoot your pumpkin!

Just $1 per arrow on-site (cash only) or $5 in advance for 10 arrows. All the money goes to help feed the animal residents at Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Register online at www.bolingbrookparks.org/pumpkinshoot. This program is just one of the many fall/Halloween-themed events coming up at Bolingbrook Park District. Here’s a list of what you can do for fun!
