Hunger, Inclusiveness, and Communication Discussed at Forum
Community members attended Bolingbrook's "On The Table" Forum that was held this morning with hosts Michael and Nadia Carpanzano.
Early this morning, Thinkers and Doers from the Bolingbrook area attended "On the Table," a regional effort and initiative hosted by the Chicago Community Trust (in partnership with The Community Foundation of Will County) with thousands of similar events occurring today throughout the city and suburbs. Residents, Community Leaders, and Elected Officials joined hosts Michael & Nadia Carpanzano at The Promenade Bolingbrook for their fourth "On the Table" event in four years. Today's theme focused on collaborating and designing the next thirty years in our community: Bolingbrook 2049! Topics discussed included sustainability, hunger, inclusiveness, and communication. Attendees were positive, forward-thinking, and very dedicated to our local community.
The goal from here is to move ideas from the table into action to make powerful things happen. Data from today's event will be analyzed and used across the region to drive efforts. However, local event attendees brainstormed and built relationships to help them begin to immediately benefit our neighborhoods and the public good. Follow-up meetings are already in the works and we can expect this group of passionate and interested residents to be at the forefront of initiatives yet to come.
