K9 Retires from the Bolingbrook Police Department

Leon is a 12.5 year old Belgian Malinois and has been serving the Village of Bolingbrook for over a decade!

Bolingbrook Police K9 Leon had a very successful career, spanning over a decade of service. Last Thursday, Leon retired from the Bolingbrook Police Department. Over his 10.5 years of service to the Village of Bolingbrook, Leon was deployed over 2,100 times.

Leon was used to assist local, state, and federal agencies as he was utilized to locate narcotics and drug money, articles searches, safely searching buildings for officers, tracking and locating fleeing criminals, suicidal individuals, persons with Alzheimer’s, conducting school sniffs, and performing K9 demonstrations for the public.

We wish K9 Leon a very happy retirement and thank him tremendously for his service to our Bolingbrook community!
