Larry Neal was the man behind the scenes who made so many of our local events a success. He set up for weekly outdoor concerts, non-profit events, and large-scale community events like the Taste of Bolingbrook. Unexpectedly, Larry lost his life on June 23, 2019.

Larry Neal had just turned 56 years old on June 20th and he lost his life just three days later. Larry was born and raised in Illinois and eventually settled in Montgomery. He was married to his wife, Janice, for 33 years. They had two children, Kyle (22), and Dana (32).

Larry was an avid outdoors man and liked to camp and go four-wheeling. He was quite a mechanic and could fix anything that went wrong with an automobile. Larry was also a Boy Scout leader for many, many years. He began his career at The Promenade Bolingbrook while it was under construction back in 2006. Larry was promoted to Operations Director in 2014.

Larry’s role at the shopping center was not your typical 7am-4pm construction job. Larry would be at the center at all hours of the day and night for snow removal, tenant issues, event set-ups, etc. Larry would take that call no matter what time of the day or night.

The Promenade Bolingbrook is deeply saddened by the loss of their co-worker, friend, and family member. The family has a fundraising page set up. You can visit that page by clicking here.
