Local 3K Walk Aims to Raise Autism Awareness
The 2nd Annual Team Gabe & Friends 3K Family Walk will be hosted at Jane Addams Middle School in Bolingbrook on May 4th.

Last year the Team Gabe & Friends walk for Autism awareness had over 500 walkers! Event organizers are hoping to exceed that number at this year's walk coming up on May 4th in Bolingbrook.
Keith and Patricia, Gabe's Parents, founded Team Gabe & Friends in 2018. Their journey through the Spectrum (Autism Spectrum Disorder) started when Gabe was diagnosed around age 2. It was quite overwhelming at first, however they've remained steadfast in providing Gabe all the resources available through both private therapy as well as the Structured Teaching Learning Room (STLR) at Valley View school District's Kenneth L. Hermansen Elementary School.
With a lot of help from family and friends, Keith and Patricia hosted their first walk last year to give back to the local community. Keith said, "Although this event is a lot of work, we're both thankful for the opportunity to raise awareness and give back to the community."
