Denise Marie Rodgers-Kamis, age 56, of Bolingbrook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Joliet, Denise was the daughter of Edward Rodgers and Virginia Connelly. She was a clerk for 27 years with the U.S. Post Office, Joliet Facility, and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Denise was a devoted grandmother who lived for her two granddaughters. She will be remembered for her laugh and sense of humor.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Richard Kamis; her daughter, Kandi (Chris) Pekelder; two sons, Jimi Kamis and Matt (June) Kamis; two beloved granddaughters, Gwen and Reese Pekelder; her father, Edward Rodgers; two sisters, Gina (Jim) Studer and Susan (Donald) Cunning; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Connelly; and one brother, Stacy Michael Gonzales.

A Celebration of Denise’s Life will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the home of her daughter at 23513 William Court, Plainfield, IL 60544.
