Officials Warn Drivers To Stay Off Rural Roads In Will County

WILL COUNTY, IL – Officials are warning residents to remain cautious on roads following the overnight snowstorm, especially in rural areas of Will County.

According to the Will County Sheriff's Office, there were no major accidents reported as of Tuesday morning, but many vehicles went off the road and ended up in ditches.

No serious injuries were reported.

The Sheriff's Office is warning residents that rural roads are extremely dangerous, with windy conditions causing high drifting snow. Snow removal crews are also having difficulty keeping up with drifting on roadways.

No roadways have been closed but travel is discouraged unless absolutely necessary.
