Dombrow said he was running for a seat on the village board as a way to become more involved in the community.
A community member claimed some signatures on Dombrow's petition to run were invalid. Dombrow said he had more than the required signatures but not enough to outnumber those that were challenged.
Dombrow decided to withdraw rather than proceed with the legal battle to stay on the ballot.
