Plainfield Central HS Soccer Player To Play For Governors State

The university announced its 2021 recruits, who follow the school's best season to date.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Governors State University's women's soccer team has announced its first group of recruits for the 2021 season. One of the athletes is Plainfield Central High School's own Kaylie Dahms, a midfielder who played four seasons at the school. The honor roll student also played club soccer for Galaxy SC.

The university's recruitment comes after its best season to date has ended, according to a news release from the university. A total of eight student-athletes will be wearing orange and black for the first time this fall, including Plainfield's Dahms.

"We have brought in a competitive group of players, many of whom I have coached before on the club level at Indiana Elite," said GSU Head Coach Ante Cop. "Our program has been getting stronger each season and the players we have signed will definitely keep us moving in the right direction."
