Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Bolingbrook

The Bolingbrook Police Department is hosting this safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

The Bolingbrook Police Department will be hosting a Prescription Drug Take Back on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at 375 W. Briarcliff Road Bolingbrook, IL. A list of items accepted and not accepted can be found by clicking here.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

The next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be October 26, 2019. National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. Back in April of 2019, Take Back Day brought in 937,443 pounds (468.72 tons) of unused or expired prescription medication throughout the country.
