Royce Road, Route 53 Project Begins Sept. 12
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that as part of an ongoing intersection improvement project at Illinois 53 and Royce Road, in Bolingbrook, a closure of the northbound left turn lane from Illinois 53 onto Royce Road will be required beginning, weather permitting, Tuesday, Sept. 11. The closure will be removed on Friday, Sept. 14.
The overall project consists of road widening, resurfacing and traffic signal installation. The project also includes adding additional turn lanes and a raised median.

The overall project is expected to be complete by the end of October.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment. Motorists should also consider alternate routes to avoid this work zone.
