Slice Factory Opens Bolingbrook Location With Added Bakery
The grand opening for the drive-thru pizza place is set for June 26. To celebrate, $1 from every slice sold will go to Heart Haven OutReach.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — If you like pizza and drive-thrus, this might just be a match made in Heaven. A new Slice Factory location opened in Bolingbrook June 2, complete with a pizza-by-the-slice drive-thru.
Situated at 227 S. Weber Road, the new location is Slice Factory’s 10th restaurant. The franchise, started by Domenico and Maria DiDiana, specializes in jumbo pizza slices. The pizzeria also makes jumbo-sized pies, coming in at 28 inches.
Setting the Bolingbrook location apart from its siblings is the introduction of Sweet Spot, a cafe that offers fresh coffee, doughnuts and gelato. Of the 12 gelato flavors offered, Domenico said sea salt caramel and white chocolate raspberry are his favorites.

If Sweet Spot — a project helmed by Maria — is successful at the Weber Road location, Domenico told Patch the plan is to incorporate it at both existing and future locations.
A newer concept, the pizza drive-thru — known at Slice Factory as a Slice Thru — at the Bolingbrook restaurant is the third of its kind at the franchise. Domenico said the plan is to keep it open for 24 hours as soon as the village approves permits.

The first Slice Factory was opened in 1998 in Berwyn, which now also serves as headquarters. This location was also the first to have a Slice Thru, which was unveiled in 2018.
“Especially now with the pandemic and people not wanting to eat indoors, drive-thrus are a commodity,” Domenico said. “They're hard to come by.”
Pizza at Slice Factory comes in three sizes — large (14 inches), x-large (18 inches) and jumbo — and can also be made with a stuffed crust. The restaurant also serves sandwiches, wings and salads.
The Bolingbrook location had its soft opening June 2, which Domenico said was successful.
“We had a great turnout,” he told Patch, which he said surprised him since they did little to promote the opening beforehand. “We just flipped the sign to ‘Open.’”
The restaurant’s grand opening is planned for Saturday, June 26. To celebrate, Domenico said they’re giving out free pizza to the first 100 customers, and $1 of every slice sold that day will be donated to Heart Haven OutReach, a local nonprofit organization that helps middle and high school students in Bolingbrook and Romeoville who are going through difficult times, according to its website.
“We're very excited to be part of this community,” he said. “We're in it for the long haul.”
Bolingbrook’s Slice Factory is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Slice Thru is open until midnight every night. Prices for jumbo slices range from $4.99 to $6.49 depending on toppings.
