Theatre On The Hill To Showcase 'Guys And Dolls' Musical Comedy

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Celebrating art since 2001, Bolingbrook's Theatre on the Hill is presenting its next musical on the lineup: "Guys and Dolls." From July 9 through July 18, audiences can witness live outdoor performances of the musical comedy.

The Bolingbrook production is set to start just days after Oscar-winning screenwriter Bill Condon was announced to be helming the movie adaptation of the famed musical.

Frank Loesser's "Guys and Dolls" — based on two short stories by Damon Runyon — follows a small-time gambler who takes a $1,000 bet to woo a Salvation Army missioner. At the same time, a showgirl is dreaming of a "straight-and-narrow" path with her fiance, a crap game manager.

The musical, set in Depression-era New York City, first premiered on Broadway in 1950, followed by several revivals in the New York theater district and productions throughout Europe.

Bolingbrook's iteration of the famous musical is produced and directed by Michael Fudala and choreographed by Cathleen Nettles. The show will be performed at the Roger C. Claar Performing Arts Center, 375 W. Briarcliff Road.

Tickets to the show can be purchased for $17 on Theatre on the Hill's website. Showtimes will be from 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 7 p.m. Sundays.
