Valley View Celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week

BOLINGBROOK, IL--Valley View School District is celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week, which began May 6 and continues through May 10. Officials said they wanted to say 'thank you' to all teachers, but especially those who teach all the students in Valley View School District.

In recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Week, students were asked to nominate their favorite teachers to be honored this week.

At Bolingbrook High School, Freshman Tyler Burrows selected English Teacher Kara Brook.

Officials captured on video the moment in which Brook learned that Burrows had nominated her to be honored.

Brook thanked Burrows, saying "That's so sweet."
