Weekly Coronavirus Cases In Bolingbrook Rising Again

For the first time since November, Bolingbrook reported the second-highest number of weekly coronavirus cases in Will County.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — For the first time since November, Bolingbrook reported the second-highest number of weekly coronavirus cases in Will County, according to recent data from the Will County Health Department.

During the week of Feb. 22, Bolingbrook has 105 new cases, following Plainfield with 131 cases. Throughout November, December, January and most of February the village has had the third-most number of weekly cases with Joliet leading with the most number of cases in the county.

The village, however, is showing a significant decrease in coronavirus positivity rates across all zip codes.

According to data gathered from the Illinois Department of Public Health, as of Monday, the east side of the village (zip code 60440) has an average 7-day rolling COVID-19 positivity rate of 4.28 percent, whereas the west side (zip code 60490) is at 3.68 percent.

The WCHD reported 65,735 COVID-19 cases in the county as of Wednesday, an increase of 159 from Tuesday and 911 reported deaths, an increase of five during the same period.
