Bolingbrook Fifth-Grader Earns Second State Wrestling Title

Wood View Elementary School fifth-grader Cameron Hargrove won the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation's Midget Division earlier this month.

Wood View Elementary School fifth-grader Cameron Hargrove earned his second career state wrestling title, winning the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation’s Midget Division earlier this month.

The son of Dominique and Paul Hargrove, Cameron has been wrestling for five years.

“Paul and I are still a little in shock,” Mrs. Hargrove said. “Cameron set a goal for himself a few years back stating that he wanted to win state at every level. So far he has accomplished his goal.

“Many wrestlers wrestle all year long but with Cameron playing baseball in the spring and football in the fall, he doesn’t get the opportunity to wrestle in the off season, so he has to work twice as hard,” she added.

“His hard work and determination at such a young age has definitely paid off and we couldn’t be prouder of him.”
